Sw(eat) side of ludhiana

‘Laughter is brightest where food is Best”. 

This irish proverb is an apt description of some delightful restaurants in ludhiana. Snuck in busy corners of the city, these are genuinely one of a kind experiences in a world of much hyped theme restaurants serving specialty cuisines at exorbitant rates. 

Ludhianvis are always on hunt for a ‘different’ place – different in terms of food, ambience of the place, a unique way of presentation – when they plan to spend some quality time with their loved ones.Even today’s youth is bit outrageous in terms of entertainment and exploring out new places everynow and then.

I’ve listed my favourites here and have tried to rate their Yummy Quotient (YQ) on a scale of 1 to 5  -

1.    Bistro Flamme Bois YQ: 4.5

One of the finest Italian restaurants in Ludhiana! Has an ambience that goes really well with scrumptious food menu. food items here are Mouth watering!! Wood oven based pizzas are definitely the most lip smacking on the menu… Not to forget the Coolers ,and the mouth watering molten choco lava. The place is a hit. Recommend it any day

2.    Cake square YQ :4  ( for cakes 5 on 5)

As the name says “square” its got two outlets and double indulgences for all the coffee lovers who along with crisp talks want to grab some amazing puffs, pastries , sandwiches. I like the the hand written menu. The cakes are super delicious  and value-for-money. There is a wide array of cakes to choose from where you just have to give them what you want…. And Wallah they have it

It is an absolutely laid back place and in-tune with ludhiana’s chilled out attitude.

3.    The Chocolate Box :YQ : 3.5

A  venture by Radisson Blu ,city has a number of coffee shops but trust me, this one is very different!

As the quote suggests, The Philadelphia Cheese cake's are just amazing, many offerings that will tempt anybody and everybody.

The Chocolate Box & Lounge is “the” place to go for high tea, keeping in mind the tea lovers for whom every sip of the tea is an experience in itself. Despite all the good things specified above, maybe the high prices and limited menu are the reason why one doesn't really want to frequent the place often!

4.    This place stands out for being one of those rare restaurants in Ludhiana which try to serve authentic Continental bites The place has its own unique interiors, good ambience and the holistic hospitality which is appreciable but it just does not orchestrate with the busy ghumar mandi around. All in all its a good place, definitely worth a visit… esp the picnic benches outside to pose with J

5.    HOT BREADS: YQ :4

Located in the gedi route of Ludhiana, Hot breads has been there for many years for people. The Best Thing in the menu is their PASTA, for which it got famous. Dry manchurian, cheese corn roll, kathi rolls. A favourite hangout for the major student crowd Bakery items are one of the best in ludhiana specially the cakes and pastries. On the whole food and price bracket is very good but they need to do something refreshing in the restaurant part like ambience and service.
